Information on the FAFSA
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to decide how much financial aid will be given to a student by the Federal Government. The financial aid package a student receives could include loans, grants, and/or work-study funds. A student's eligibility for funds is determined using tax information from the previous year. This is why students cannot apply for financial aid for the 2016-2017 academic year until January 1, 2016. All students and their families are strongly encouraged to complete the FAFSA regardless of the amount of income or other assets they possess.
